Bloody Mary's & Cocktails
Happy hour! Who doesn't love a great cocktail?
When it comes to Floyd & Fred's, there is a no-brainer starting point and then lots of fun and creative extensions.
The no-brainer? Come on, it's too obvious to miss! The Bloody Mary should NEVER be made without Floyd & Fred's! We are considering lobbying Congress to declare that any Bloody Mary made without Floyd & Fred's is not in fact a legit Bloody Mary. You know, like only grapes grown in France can be considered "champagne". Lime+habaneros-- it's literally blasphemous to attempt a Bloody Mary without it! ;-)
Our favorite Bloody Mary recipe is detailed below. And that's just the start of the fun you can have with the Floyd & Fred's sauce.
First, a cool trick: for any drink with a salted rim, whether a Bloody Mary or a Margarita, Lemon Drop, etc, use Floyd & Fred's Original or Extra-Hot to wet the rim of the glass, then dip it in salt (or sugar for a Lemon Drop). Amazing!
Second trick: the garnish! Some of these are covered in their own section but definitely make a point to add Floyd & Fred's pickles or olives or asparagus spears, dilly beans, etc to any Bloody Mary.
Otherwise, have fun with it! Floyd & Fred's can add great flavor and offset some of the overly-sweet margarita mixes. And as superstar bartender Mandy from one of Fred's favorite spots, Terrapin Crossroads (owned by Grateful Dead legend Phil Lesh) proves, there are lots of ways to incorporate the sauce into amazing, unique cocktails.
